Chapter 7: Big Brotheeeer~

Recap----

“……_________, I….Idon’twantyoutoleaveme!!....Stop thinking about him and look at me!”

His sky-blue eyes watered nonstop as he reached forward and gripped onto the hem of your shirt.

“Don’t…leave me here. I’m still here! I was always right here..! I just wanted you to look at me…I love you!

Just then you felt your [e/c] orbs widen as he stared up at you begging.

“…So…don’t go away and leave me…..”

End Recap---

A whole 3 weeks had passed since Alfred had confessed his feelings to you and though you hated to admit it, it truly left quite the impact. You always knew Alfred to be that of a joker, or more or less affectionately sweet at times, but was he? All this time, had he really been secretly begging for your attention? For you to just look his way for once? …For how long? How long had he been feeling this way? You didn’t know, and really you didn’t want to think about it….but…

Suddenly gripping the handle of the broom you were sweeping with tightly you brought your thoughts back to Ivan and Arthur. That’s right, now Ivan knew about Arthur! As a shiver went up and down your spine you heard the jingle of the entrance bell ring but paid no attention to it. Now that you think about it, you hadn’t heard from Ivan all that time either…c-could he have….no. You shook your head, ‘Arthur’s alright, Ivan’s alright…they’re just fine…’ you told yourself over and over in your head. But you were so preoccupied that you didn’t notice the dark presence that was slowly closing in on you till you happened to turn a corner and saw from your peripheral vision the lunge of a knife whizzing past your head and getting lodged in the stud of the shelf by your head.
You stared at it for a few seconds as your mind slowly registered what was going on, “W-W-W-WHA?!—” Just as you jumped back from the sudden surprise another knife had joined the last one and only just missing your head by a centimeter.  Suddenly that dark feeling came over you as you felt it loom strongly from behind you,

“Big Brotheeeer~ Vhat have you done vith my dear Biiig Brotheeeeer?!~ Vhere is he you little VITCH!!?”

Immediately you spun around only to come face to face with a lovely lady clad in a fancy dark navy blue maid dress with long flowing platinum blonde hair fashioned with a white bow atop her head.  She glared at you with wickedly evil violet eyes that somehow resembled Ivan’s own. She let rumble a deep growl beneath her breath as she glared at you, accusation burning in her glare. “Um-What? But-I—He—“

“VHERE IS BIG BROTHEEER!?! VHAT HAVE YOU DONE VITH HIIIIM?!!!!”

She lunged at you this time, knife tightly clad in the palm of her hand. You luckily dodged her swings as you made your way out of the isle and into the open; from there you were greeted by the frightened squeals of shoppers as she hastily swung at you. It took every ounce of courage to stop yourself from high-tailing it out of there, but something about what she’d said had you hooked,

“W-wait a moment?”

—SLASH—

“I-Really—hold on a minute!”

—SWING—

“This is a bit much don’t you think?”

—SLICE—

“N-Now hold on a moment—Idon’tevenknowwhoyou’retalkingabout!—“

Yet all she did was ignore your pleas and instead sent the knife barreling past you and nicking you in the shoulder. Just then your boss had come out of the office in time to see the Belarusian girl trying to take another nip at you, “________! What’s going on here?!” He quickly took hold of the girl’s wrist which held the knife and held it back and away from the both of you. After a couple of seconds Alfred soon seemed to recognize the girl as his arm shook somewhat from fear but managed to keep his tight grip. “H-Hey aren’t you Ivan’s sister? Ahum…what was it? Natie? Natonya? Natalie?~” But as he continued to ponder the female’s name you could couldn’t stop the shiver that was going up your spine from the cold hard glare that she had plastered on you. “—Nataria? Nata…Natalia? Nataly—“

“—NEVERMIND!”

She swung her wrist free out of Alfred’s grip as she turned to take her leave, “I see that my brother’s not here…” she stated bitterly beneath her breath, but just as she was about to leave out the door she sent her blazing violet orbs to glare over her shoulder, directly piercing your [e/c] eyes, “But I’ll be back. As will Big Brother, so would I…” and with that she disappeared as the door closed shut and left a single jingle in the air. All other customers within the store seemed to be too scared to move as they were paralyzed mid-motion of what they were doing prior to the Belarusian’s earlier appearance. Mr. Jones sighed as he lifted his glasses to rub at his eyes, a tad bit shaken from the terrifying girl’s presence, then shaking it off he turned to grin at you as you stared at the door in confusion, “She was Ivan’s sister?” you asked a tad curious as well as nerved by the fact. Alfred seeing your interest gave you a slight grin before he went to pick up some of the stuff that had fallen to the floor during the encounter, “Well, youngest to be exact I guess…From what I know, the guy has an older sister too…buuuut, I don’t know much about her.” He stood back on his feet and placed the fallen item back into its respected place before turning to look back at you, eyes dead serious.

“Do you-…no—never mind.”

With that he was his smiling and cheery self once more as he went to cheering up the customers in the store so that it wouldn’t be so gloomy in the building. You took a peek at your [watch, cell, pocket watch] and noticed that you had approximately 10 minutes till it was time to close up for the day, since due to the approaching Christmas holiday shops all around were closing up early, so you quickly went back to what you were doing and finished cleaning up the mess Ivan’s little sister had left before putting away your apron and supplies. After walking out of the employee’s lounge you noticed that the building had been emptied out and Mr. Jones was saying goodbye to some of the few stragglers in the shop. Smiling warmly at them as they left, he didn’t notice when you’d snuck up behind him till he’d spun around to lock up for the day. “Woah! Holy crap dude! You almost scared the piss outta me!” he squealed, startled. You could only nod slightly used to it but before you could breathe a word he latched onto your shoulders and grinned his trademark grin at you, “_______! Dudette! You free tonight?” he blushed as a blank look overcame his previously expression at the realization that he’d promptly let the words just fly out of his mouth like that, “U—Uh-Well-that is—err…like ya know…spend the Holidays with me…”

You stared mystified by Alfred’s question, but after some thought you decided to give in and take him up on his offer, so with a quick nod you were immediately taken back when he’d pulled you into a tight hug, nearly crushing you with a lack of knowledge to his strength, “Like, you have no idea how happy that makes me, _______!!! I swear you won’t regret it! I’ll make this the best Christmas you ever had!~” Pulling away, Mr. Jones shined an adoring smile, practically knocking the breath out of you. You felt you cheeks heat up as a powdery red flush came across it and before you could compose yourself you felt something warm clamp onto your soft lips as Alfred sneakily stole yet another kiss from you. Your [e/c] eyes widened as you quickly found yourself fumbling about in a wordless speech which only seemed to cause the happy American to smile more at your attempts to put together a reply to his strong held affections. But just as he was about to swoop in for another kiss you quickly came to and slipped out of his hold and hurried to the door, completely unable to look at him without turning back into that blushing mess, “I-….I-I’ll see you in a week t-then…b-…bye…” you squeaked.

Hearing your reply Alfred smiled happily and gave you his famous hero pose, “Okay! See ya then, dudette!” and with that you subtly nodded and headed out into the cold of the streets.

In the shop Alfred’s hand wavered as he finally let it drop. A series of shivers traveled through his body as he leaned against the counter of the register. Running a shaky hand through his sunny blonde locks he let out a stifled sigh as he brought his fingers up and ran them over his lips, softly feeling the damp warmth that had curved itself into a wide grin that sprang from cheek to cheek. Suddenly the American found himself hunched over; no longer able to contain the excitement he was feeling he sprang up into the air with a cheeky grin spread on his face,

“YA-HOOOO!!! I’M FINALLY GOING TO BE AN ITEM WITH ________!!! ICAN’TBELIEVEIT-THISISLIKESOTOTALLYAWESOME!!! IDIDIT-IDIDIT-IDIDIT!!!!!!!!~ YEAH-YAY-YEAH-YAY!!!——YA-HOOOO!!!~”

You dropped your things atop your coffee table as you made your way into your house and closed the door heading towards the kitchen to prepare a snack, but before you could even take one step you heard a small knock at the door. Raising a brow, the thought of anyone ever visiting you never really crossed your mind, with only fear to shed upon everyone and their neighbor’s uncle’s pet twice removed and all, but if it was Alfred, then it could be possible. You opened the door with the usual stoic look naturally written on your face but when you took a look out there you didn’t see anything from first glance. That is, until you brought your attention downward and quickly had to suppress the unexpected yelp that had escaped your mouth.

There before you stood a small boy who looked no older than maybe 8. You stared/glared sternly at him which for some reason brought a sudden reddening to his pale cheeks; though the more you studied him the more and more he reminded you of Ivan. He even had the same lovely pair of amethyst eyes accompanied by the same resemblance of beige locks. Suddenly the small boy began to tremble as he fumbled nervously with his fingers, “U-um…Privet, podsolnechnika~” You blinked a bit, ‘podsolnechnika?’ The word repeated itself a couple of times before realization finally decided to smack you in the face, “I-I-Ivan?! Wha-who-how?!—“ dead-panning you shook your head and pulled the small boy out of the cold and into your house, “….Spasiba…” he muttered coyly as he stood behind you.

Quickly closing the door shut you turned back to the small boy and assessed his sudden appearance. He seemed to be holding tightly to what was originally his long coat from when he was still an adult but now that he’d shrunken down into that of a child’s body the only things he was able to carry on him was his beloved scarf and beige coat. ‘Ooh…that’s adora—No! Not the time to think about that!’ Mentally smacking yourself you retreated to your bedroom not forgetting to motion for the young one to follow close behind. Once inside you immediately started searching through your dressers and closet for something more… fitting for the small boy.

Ivan’s P.O.V.---------

While ________ went about I couldn’t stop the heat from spreading to my cheeks and forming a light blush at the fact that I was standing in her bedroom of all places. ‘Oh how many hours on end I used to watch you from just outside that window, but now thanks to that stupid Magic man I’m standing in the middle of  your bedroom…I guess I should thank him. Personally~’ with that I felt that dark feeling come over me again as I tightly gripped to my pipe.

3rd Person* Ivan P.O.V.--------

Oh, Arthur was going to get quite the thank you gift when he was done with him. But before Ivan could continue with his dark thoughts he heard the shutting of a closet door as ________ made her way up to him holding out a large T-shirt and shorts. She looked at him apologetically, “I’m sorry…but it would seem that this is the best I could do…here.” She opened up the shirt and held it over his head to stick his head through, then letting him get both his arms and scarf through she handed him the shorts and left him to himself so that she could get something ready for dinner. But before she could leave she realized Ivan had latched onto the hem of her blouse,

“Spasiba! Thank you, podsolnechnika!~”

Feeling the corners of her lips edge up into a crooked smile she choked out a quiet “your welcome” before she pat him on the head and quickly made her way down to the kitchen. Ivan waited for her to disappear behind a corner before closing the door and refitting the shorts so that he could wear them. As he tugged up the fabric he recalled back when he left to hunt down Arthur…

Flashback*-------

“…What is the name of the one who broke moy podsolnechnika’s heart?” Ivan watched patiently as _______ stared at him, a look of complete shock rose to her [e/c] eyes.  But before she was able to respond to his question he heard a loud crash leave the room and before he could move a muscle Alfred was there at the window, now standing in place of his precious Sunflower.

Ivan felt his blood boiling to dangerous peaks as he restrained himself from running up there and pounding the stupid American’s face into dust, but before he could threaten the moronic idiot before him he heard the oh so despised American speak up, “If you’re talking about Arthur then go check out this address…” and with that he saw the man toss something out the window as it flew to land at his feet. Ivan debated a bit on whether or not he should pick it up, but after some thought he reached down and begrudgingly swiped it up from the snow and took a look at what was written on it. After confirming the address Ivan glanced back up, a scowl making its way back onto his face when he noticed that the American was still blocking _______ from his view, so sending one last death warning he tucked the notepad into his coat and headed out into the frosty blizzard that engulfed him out of sight.

Ivan looked at the flickering lamp posts as they illuminated the address labels along the houses that he passed, but immediately he halted mid-step at one in particular as he looked from the paper to the label and back……This was the one.

Subtly he took out his sink pipe and stalked over to the front door. Glaring down at the knob a venomous smirk made its way onto his lips as he struck at the knob, quickly knocking it out of the door and leaving a nasty hole where it was removed. As he quietly slipped into the dimly lit home he started looking about, in search of any trace of the traitorous Brit. Walking past some old knick-knacks here and there he felt a low growl escape his lips as when he spotted a little picture of the accursed Brit and his Sunflower encased in a finely decorated silver plated frame. Honestly, everything lately made him want to punch a hole through it. Lifting up the picture in his large hands he rubbed his thumb over the smiling face of his Sunflower, a look of genuine peace well written in his wavering amethyst orbs. But when they glanced over slightly to the figure whose arm was wrapped protectively around her he grit his teeth, the dark aura returning. Just what was it about _______ that made him want to go through any distance and obstacle just to claim her as “His?” Sure at first it was just to spite that annoying American who’d always make fun of him…but now…

Before he could continue in his thoughts he heard the sound of footsteps in the dark hall as well as a bit of laughter. Ivan narrowed his eyes and placed a now broken in half picture frame back onto the table as he made his way into the hallway.

Inching closer to a well-lit room he made sure to stay hidden in the darkness the shadows provided him. He peeked inside glancing about till finally his orbs landed on a pair of bushy eyebrows. He could feel his knuckles turn white as they stiffened around the cold metal of his pipe. ‘I’ve found you, da?~’ Ivan sang in his head while watching the drunk Brit chatter about with his friend. “And then the git just had to go on and bloody grow up a whole good years without mey~, bloody-‘ell ‘e did!—*hic—but yee knoi whot? I dun’t need ‘am! I ‘ave me the best—*hic— lady I-is eva could aisk faw~” Arthur was dancing in the middle of his living room waving about a wand in one hand and a mug of Sherry[1] in the other. Ivan wasn’t fazed as he kept his deadly intention strongly on his most potent obstacle which ridiculously stood between him and his Sunflower.

Then that’s when it happened…Suddenly the Brit calmed down, as if for a moment a sober wave had hit him, momentarily sobering him up as he pondered his thoughts, though he looked ridiculous only being clad in a short black apron after all. A spacey look came over his emerald green eyes as he stared dully out the large window that over looked the busy street, “……I miss her…” he whispered barely even audible. His friend sat up from his slouched position on the couch and lifted the glass of wine so that he was peering at the drunken Brit through its red window, “Zen why did you dump ‘er, mon amie?~ Not to mention getting engaged to zat petit frère of yours’ ex, non?”

Ivan felt a silent gasp escape his lips as he continued to eavesdrop on their conversation, ‘What? What is he talking about? Is that stupid American in on this too?!’ Ivan had had enough. Pulling himself from behind the wall he stood darkly in the corridor of the room, his presence striking fear in both men. The one with the strong French accent let out a shrill scream which sounded like a little girl screaming while the Brit fumbled over his coffee table, knocking over countless mugs and bottles. Raising up his pipe, Ivan grinned maniacally at the two blondes, “The two of you will both be dying now. DAAA?~”

He swung the metal down to where the drunken Brit lay only to miss when he suddenly stood up and pranced away to the other side of the room laughing like a fairy unicorn in search of candy mountain. Ivan felt a nerve prick as he lifted his pipe from the broken rubble of splintered wood. The Frenchman however couldn’t stop himself from screaming bloody murder as he ran and duct behind the couch as Ivan chased Arthur around the room, a happy little grin plastered on both of their faces[2], “You will be stopping now, da?~ Otherwise Mr. Magic Cane won’t be able to play with you, DAA?!~” Ivan rang as he chased Arthur around, quickly gaining ground and now growing quite annoyed with the flimsy Brit he towered menacingly over the weaker man ready to bring forth punishment when out of nowhere the drunken Britain spun around, wand in hand and chanted a spell.

Ivan immediately halted in his pursuit as a bright green aura formed around him and he started to feel light headed as the minty green mist slowly dissipated from around him. Before he knew it he was laying on the ground in a pile of his clothes as a pair of bright emerald green and other cerulean blue orbs stared at him questionably, “Well~ Ze petit bebe is awake, non? Now what?” asked the Frenchman who then went onto fearlessly pinch at the small Russian’s cheeks cooing. Ivan growled darkly and tried to swat the man’s hands away but instead found his arms buried in the thick fabric that was once his clothes. Arthur grumbled nervously as he fixed the collar and tie of his shirt then turned back around to fully inspect the damage. Ivan held his light pink scarf close as he pulled the long coat up to cover his shoulders.

Smirking wickedly, Arthur gestured for the Frenchman to give him his coat that was lying untouched on the couch. As soon as he had the dark coat snug in his grasp he pulled out a cellphone and turned it towards Ivan, “Well this should do nicely~ Hold him steady Frog!” The Frenchman sighed at the Brit, “Ahh~ Ze love I get~ I try and I try and see what it gets moi?~ Your body language says it all mon amie~ If you just wanted children you could’ve just asked, non? Ohhonhonhonhon—“ “SHUT UP!!! MY BODY BLOODY DOESN’T SAY SQUAT TO YOU!!!”[3]

Recognizing what he was about to do, Ivan quickly freed his arms and pulled out his sink pipe before quickly swinging it against the Frenchman’s kneecaps and causing him to fall over in front of him right when Arthur’d snapped the picture and ran for it, leaving his pants and other articles behind.[4] “BLOODY HELL FRANCIS!!! GO AFTER HIM!!!”

Ivan quickly ran through the halls and down the corridors till he passed a broken frame lying on a table. Eyeing it hesitantly he picked up the frame. Moments later Arthur and Francis finally made their way to the entrance only to see that the door was wide open as fresh foot prints went through the snow. Arthur cursed to himself for letting such a golden opportunity escape his grasp. Francis winced as he rubbed at his knee where the pipe had made contact and as his cerulean eyes glanced about he took notice to a pretty little silver picture frame which lay in pieces. Straightening up he reached down and took one look at what was left of the picture, eyes growing wide he let a small shiver go down his spin, “Angleterre…look at zees…” he said as he held out the picture for Arthur to grasp.

Taking the picture from Francis’s hand he flipped it over to take a look at it. Almost immediately his emerald green orbs shrunk in fear of the warning that was left. There in his hands was the picture of himself and _______ when they were first engaged, except…now ________ was torn out of the picture as a sharp gash was made where his neck was…..

With that he was left with two options…let Francis stay the night, or risk being murdered in his sleep by a psychopathic child?......though choice.

End Flashback*--------

Making his way down stairs, Ivan nearly drooled at the delightful scent he smelt as it grew stronger and stronger as he grew closer to the kitchen. Once reaching it he found _______ next to the stove as she poured something from the pot and into two bowls. She didn’t have her usual expression on her face as she hummed somewhat to whatever was on her mind at the moment, but as soon as she’d placed the second bowl onto the table she noticed little Ivan standing at the doorway, half-hiding, half-fidgeting as he made his way over, “Dobryj večer, podsolnechnika!~” he stated cheerfully as he took a seat at the table. You gave him a confused look as you thought back to when you’d first heard him say that to you…”You are…greeting me right?” you asked a bit shame faced[5]. Ivan merely nodded before taking a sneak glance at the bowl and back to you, “Da! I am wishing you a good evening~” At this you smiled and placed the bowl in front of him so that he could eat, “Then a d-dobryj…večer to you too?” you asked, hoping you pronounced it correctly. But from the exceptionally happy grin that was plastered on his face, you guessed you did well and sat down next to him while you ate your meal in peace completely unaware of the bright red tinting that overcame his rosy cheeks.

After the meal you went to putting away left overs and cleaning plates, Ivan was next to you tugging at your clothes protesting that he wanted to help, but you only shook your head and told him that it was fine and you were almost done anyway. Pouting, Ivan begrudgingly nodded and sat himself at the table to wait for you. Looking back you felt a tiny chuckle escape your breath as you held up a wet plate for him to dry. Almost immediately Ivan was at your side and waiting patiently as you handed him plate after plate to dry off and put away, though you had to help him put most away because he was too short to even reach the counter. For the rest of the evening you had grown fond of holding little Ivan close to you as he was too cute and adorable to resist, even catching yourself squeal here and there. Though Ivan would protest a little, he couldn’t deny the fact that he really did enjoy being held close in your warm arms.

It was getting late and Ivan was having a hard time staying awake due to his small body and as you watched his amethyst eyes droop from time to time you smoothed out his soft beige hair and let his head rest on your shoulder and lightly pat his back as he finally drifted off to sleep. Sighing happily you let out a giggle as you walked up to your bedroom and placed him atop your bed you wrapped the covers over him and tucked him in. Smiling lightly to yourself you made your way back down stairs and plopped a pillow up on the edge of the couch and readied a blanket to keep you warm for the night. As you laid your head on the pillow you gazed up at the dimly lit Christmas tree, its [Christmas color/s] slowly lulled you to sleep as you fell into darkness.

However as you slept you were oblivious to the sound of little feet making their way up to you as a small hand stroked your [h/l] [h/c] hair,

“….Sleep tight, podsolnechnika……Spokojnoj noči…”[6]
